Ali's Brasserie is a long-established Indian restaurant on Wimborne Road, on the northern road into Bournemouth heading towards Moordown. It's a neighbourhood curry house of the sort locals go back to time after time: tandoori and balti specialities, a full menu for eating in, and a takeaway counter for those who'd sooner eat at home.
What's on the menu
Classic tandoori and balti cooking is at the core of the menu, with meat and vegetable dishes prepared in the traditional clay-oven and karahi styles, alongside the broader selection of curries, rice and breads a proper British-Indian restaurant should have. It's food aimed at regulars: filling, dependably spiced, and priced for an easy night out rather than a big occasion.
Practical details
Lunch (12:00 to 14:00) and dinner (5:30pm through to midnight) are served Wednesday to Monday and on bank holidays; Tuesday is the closing day. On Monday nights there's a banquet deal of four courses from £11.95, with non-wine drinks at half price earlier in the evening. As well as dining in, you can have food delivered free within a three-mile radius when you spend over £15, or collect a standard takeaway, and tables can be reserved by phone.
