Blend on the Hill is an independent coffee shop with an all-day brunch kitchen on Richmond Hill, a few minutes' walk up from the Square in Bournemouth town centre. It sits inside part of the former Bournemouth Echo building, where tall ceilings, large windows and plenty of plants give it the feel of a light, open workspace rather than a standard high-street café.
What to order
Bad Hand Coffee is the house roaster; the espresso blend gets dialled in twice daily and the filter coffee rotates each week, so regulars usually find something new to try. From the kitchen comes brunch served all day, based on British café favourites: eggs, sourdough and breakfast plates dominate, with pastries and vegetarian dishes alongside. The café belongs to the Blend Coffee Collective, whose sister branches are in Broadstone and, from autumn 2026, Southbourne.
Practical details
Dogs are welcome and the café is wheelchair accessible, and with Wi-Fi, card payments and takeaway on offer it suits a morning of remote work as much as a quick flat white. Opening runs seven days a week from morning until mid-afternoon, but cafés do change their hours with the seasons, so confirm the current times before making a special journey. Expect a queue for brunch at weekends, as it's a well-liked spot.
Its position just up from the Square makes it a simple addition to a day in the town centre. Our food & drink guide lists more cafés, restaurants and bars close by, and our things to do guide to central Bournemouth suggests what to combine with a coffee here.
