Conto Lounge belongs to the Lounges chain of neighbourhood café-bars and stands on Wimborne Road, at the northern fringe of central Bournemouth close to Winton and Charminster. In common with the group's other venues, it is built to serve the entire day: breakfast and coffee first thing, lunch in the middle, and dinner with cocktails once evening arrives.
What's on the menu
From breakfast and brunch the menu carries on to a complete dinner and cocktail list. Dishes have included a Hot Honey Fried Chicken Burger and a Byron Bay Brunch of sweetcorn fritters with feta and avocado, with drinks such as an Iced Blueberry Matcha Latte. Separate vegan and gluten-free menus and a dedicated kids menu mean families and mixed groups are looked after.
The look and feel
Inside, it has the Lounges house style: a characterful jumble of framed portraits and paintings with vintage-style furniture, a few window seats and a handful of tables outside at the front. It encourages lingering rather than the quick in-and-out of a takeaway café.
Practical details
Dogs are welcome at Conto Lounge and the venue is wheelchair accessible, including its seating and toilet. Opening hours are 9am to 11pm daily. Parties of six or fewer can usually walk straight in; larger groups should reserve, and takeaway orders can be placed via click & collect.
