Cunningham Crescent Skate Park is how mapping data labels the skatepark within Moore Avenue park, in West Howe on the Kinson side of Bournemouth. Local skaters know it as Moore Avenue Skatepark, or just "ToyTown": a small, basic outdoor spot rather than a purpose-built bowl or plaza.
The setup
It's a simple layout: metal ramps fixed to a tarmac base and arranged as a mini ramp, quarter pipes, a jump box with a rail, and flat banks. It's better suited to skateboarders and scooter riders learning the fundamentals than to anyone after a big vert wall or a concrete bowl.
The rest of the park
The skatepark is only one element of Moore Avenue, a Green Flag accredited park that serves the West Howe community. Around the ramps there are tennis courts, a children's play area, a picnic area, a café and a ball court used for football and basketball. Parking on site is free, and there are toilets in the park pavilion.
Practicalities
There are no gates and no charge: it's a free, open-access outdoor facility, so you can arrive and skate whenever the park is open. Since the ramps are metal and out in the open, they can turn slippery when wet, so check conditions before setting out, particularly after rain.
