Jubilatte Cafe is a modest community coffee shop housed at Immanuel Church on Southbourne Road, a short stroll inland from the Southbourne shops and cliff top. Rather than aiming to be a destination in itself, it works as a low-key local haunt, somewhere people call in for a coffee and a chat, valuing the friendliness of the place as much as anything on the menu.

Choices stay simple and unfussy: cakes and bakes, sandwiches, panini rolls and jacket potatoes, backed by a solid range of hot and cold drinks. The coffee gets particular praise from customers, with several calling it among Southbourne's best. There's no pretension here, this is honest café fare, dished up through the weekday morning and into early afternoon.
Community at its heart
The church connection defines the whole atmosphere. Open to anybody passing through Southbourne rather than a members-only space, it runs a regular Games Afternoon each Thursday from 2 until 4pm, when food orders come with a 10% discount. Extra happenings, quiz nights and similar fundraising events, tend to surface through church channels rather than wide publicity, so a little local knowledge pays off.

Jubilatte sticks to sensible daytime opening, Monday through Friday from 9am to 4pm, with the kitchen closing hot food orders at 2.30pm while drinks and cakes continue until about 3.45pm; weekends and bank holidays are shut. Wheelchair access is available along with some outdoor seating, and the relaxed, unhurried mood suits families and anyone wanting a peaceful break just as well.
