Muscliff Park is a sizeable community park in Muscliff, on the north side of Bournemouth, with its entrance off Shillingstone Drive. It extends to roughly 14.7 acres and gained Green Flag status in 2018 for the standard of its upkeep. Local dog walkers use it heavily, as do families after open space well away from the crowded seafront.
Facilities
Muscliff Community Centre sits at the centre of the park and runs a popular children's nursery alongside parties, events and adult education classes; next door, the youth centre puts on its own fitness classes, dance sessions, training and celebrations. Outside you will find a children's play area, tennis courts and a petanque terrain, the latter used by the Muscliff Park Petanque Club, together with football and cricket pitches. Arriving by car is straightforward thanks to the car park on Shillingstone Drive.
Visiting
There is no admission charge and the park is open as public green space throughout the year. The community centre, youth centre and any courts that need booking run to their own separate timetables, so contact those venues directly if your visit depends on a particular activity. Being in the Muscliff stretch of the Stour Valley, the park is only a short way from the riverside paths of the Stour Valley Nature Reserve and Muscliff Arboretum, which makes it simple to add a longer walk beside the River Stour to your trip.
The park shows the calmer, community-minded side of Bournemouth away from the beach. Find more of the area in our guide to things to do in Bournemouth.
