The Nici is a relaxed luxury hotel set high above the bay on Bournemouth's West Cliff. It took its current name in 2023 after the site's earlier incarnation, the Savoy Hotel, was completely refurbished and rebranded. What emerged has a bright, coastal-resort feel, with the sea and the clifftop gardens of West Cliff both within easy reach.
The rooms
More than 80 refurbished rooms and suites span everything from compact doubles to family rooms and sea view suites overlooking Poole Bay. The interiors go for a contemporary, airy look rather than anything ornate, and the variety of room types works for couples on a weekend away as much as for families staying longer.
Facilities & dining
The centrepiece is a heated 30m outdoor pool with cabanas and fire pits, complemented by the NICI Spa with its indoor pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. A gym and treatment rooms complete the picture. Eating is handled by two in-house restaurants: South Beach, serving all-day dining and cocktails, and Old Harry Rocks, with a more casual, beach-inspired menu.
Location
West Hill Road lies on the West Cliff, among the most desirable seafront addresses in Bournemouth, only a short walk from the clifftop gardens and the paths leading down to the beach; the town centre is a little further on foot.
